WORLD BOOK DAY COMPETITION

4 March 2020 (by Emma TONKS (ETonks))

Tweets to authors!

To celebrate #WorldBookDay2020 we are launching an exciting competition! It will take place on Twitter and involve tagging an author who inspires you. The aim is for the author to like, comment or retweet your post. Children who achieve any of these will receive a treat, with one lucky winner from EYFS/KS1 and one from KS2 winning a bundle of books.

The task instructions are as follows:

● Your child writes a letter or a message (younger children can draw a picture) to an author telling them why they enjoy their books and stories and why they inspire them.
● Take a screen shot of the letter.
● Tweet this to the author using their Twitter Handle (eg. @MichaelRosenYes, @jk_rowling, @davidwalliams, @AnthonyHorowitz, @malorieblackman, @RL_Stine) and also remember to tag in our school @StJoesLichfield.
NB. You will need to follow us for this to work if you haven’t already done so. You will also need to unlock your account temporarily for this to work.
● Wait to see if your author replies in any way.

We will retweet any posts that show an author’s response so keep following us to keep up with the excitement.

The competition is open until Thursday 31st March. Get tweeting!
