Music
At St. Joseph’s we use the ‘Charanga Music School’ scheme of work which supports all of the requirements of the National Curriculum and gives children access to a wide range of musical concepts and experiences.
The school also provides a number of opportunities for children to take part in extra-curricular music including a Choir and music lessons with peripatetic teachers in brass, drumming, flute, keyboards, guitar and violins.
Aims
Our aims for music are to enable children to:
- To deliver a high quality music education that engages and inspires pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians
-
Children show high levels of enjoyment in Music lessons.
-
Children will have a good knowledge and recall of facts linked to each ‘Charanga’ topic.
-
Recordings and pupil interviews show evidence of continuity of progression in knowledge, skills and understanding.
